The "Golden Arches" takes over the World...

At the beginnging of this semester, I was in need of an elective course out side of the Business faculty. I was left with a Kinesiology course on Food and Society. Who would of guessed that it would be such a interesting course? It has really got me thinking...about food. Not just eating food but especially how we, as human beings allow our family, our children to be exposed and trapping into the multimillion dollar marketing campaign of fast food corporations.

For one of our midterm prep-material, we were required to read the NewYork Time's Best seller Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. Being a part of the first generation who was fully exposed to the multimillion dollar fast food advertising targeted solely at adolescences, all I can say is that it's disgusting. Educating myself on the fast food industry's practices on luring children in from a very young age, brain washing them to live, breathe, and eat their products makes me questions: have they gone too far?

One of my marketing TA's wrote an article on McDonald's Marketing strategy. Its pretty interesting check it out, McDonald's: Lovin' It To Death

It has been a while.

Its been a while...more like 9 months since I last blogged. I guess a part of me kind of didn't see a point too it, but after a mini page make-over, I will start blogging again. : )

2010 Time is ticking.

Here is the start of another year. Im starting to slack on my posts. I guess these days Im too busy to even have thoughts to post up to share.

Im glad to see my efforts paid off last semester, but I have to work even harder this semester, since I'm taking harder classes, therefore less blogging.

Yesterday I went for my first long run of the year. It wasn't anything spectacular, just on the old treadmill. I "won" a free week pass to the Steve Nash/Fitness World down the block, meaning I should take advantage of it!!

I shared my winnings with one of my best friend's boyfriend (since she doesn't work out her self, he was the next best candidate) It was a 7km run on a treadmill! I think that should make the record for the longest treadmill run. It's so hard to stay on a treadmill for that long, especially after going for all my long runs around the seawall. Ah, how much I miss summer days, another 5 months to go!

Aside from working my winter break away, I did a short little day trip down to seattle / bellevue before the start of the semester, in hopes of getting my long time love - the Jumbo Chanel Classic.

Sadly, more wait lists for me!! I am now on a total of 4 wait list for this bag. 32nd place in Vancouver, 18th in Seattle, 40? in Calgary, and 5th in Bellevue. I am getting CLOSE!! = )
Please please please hurry! I want it, I want it!!! How dumb is this: Paying $3700 for a bag, and yet you still have to wait for EVER. If I dont get a phone call from Chanel soon, I may just have to resort to this one........ I mean it still has the Chained handles, the Chanel Clasp, and the quitted body..................... =(

On second thought, Maybe I should wait a bit longer LOL.

The other day I had a dream that I wake up one day and found the Bag sitting out side my door, wrapped up all pretty waiting for me.... What a PERFECT dream. It's like Price charming riding on a white horse. Ahhh I wish I could keep dreaming.

Time is Ticking, call me soon please? : (
