Run Me Run
I took these photos today for my first photoshop assignment : ) Tried to take advantage of the 10 minutes of sun we had. The few dashes that I did for the photos made me realize how long ago the last time I've actually gone for a run. I think it is time to get into summer mode!

The HUMAN RACE
10.24.2009 - The Day the World Runs
Yayy!!! I DID IT! : ) my first official registered run.

I ran through the finish line with the biggest smile on my face : ) I cant believe it. I did it.

(With Simon Whitfield - 2 times Olympian + World record Triathlon *he looks like a wax figure*)
Hours before the race I was hesitating on whether if I should just skip the race and go to a gf's birthday dinner. Or, maybe it'll start pouring rain and I will just do the run "virtually".... and probably just end up never running it. I was both, excited and scared at the same time. I really wanted to run and see if i can do it - as a personal challenge but at the same time what if I'm the ONLY one that doesn't make it? Or what if I trip and fall because I cant see in the dark! (the Nike Human race this year was a Night race) Hey, if I don't actually go run...I already got my money's worth with my cute little dry fit Nike Shirt. (+ all the other cool little gadgets)
Lucky, I signed up with a VERY motivated friend. A true runner. He pushed me to go do the race and plus its my project...so I HAD to go! As soon as we got there the Horn went off and before you knew it EVERYONE was pushing their way through. Run Run Run.
Well one of the disadvantages for arriving so late was not knowing where you we
re running to, so you couldn't have a visual map of how to pace your self.
All I knew was keep going, keep going, don't be lazy!! I huff and i Puffed. It was COLD! 1hr and 10mins later, I looked at my sports band and it told me that I finished 11.3km! Personal Record! = ) Not only did I exceeded all my expectations and at the end of it I felt GREAT. As a matter of fact, I was walking faster than my pro-runner friend....probably the one and only time that will ever happen in my life=P
Next up.... New Balance Fall Classic Run. Stay tuned. You should run it with me too : )
PS. At the end of the run, I discovered that a few REAL pro runners also ran the Human race. Like Simon Whitfield ---- You should google him = )

Project Run.
Swamped with homework, group work, assignments + readings, work and CAC stuff, Im some how managing it all, finally discovering the true University life. I stay at school with a daily minimum of 12 hours a day for the past... 2 weeks. Ahh. Lets just say TGIF.
So I had to treated my self a little, I went for my first October run. It was COLD, but definitely refreshing from the university environment. I also manage to pick up my new gadget. The Nike+ sports Band. I was sooo excited, from the moment I purchased it, at metrotown, it was in my hands until I reached the sands of Sunset beach -- All excited to open my new tracker and go for a good long run around the seawall. It wasn't until I arrived at the beach, for me to realize it needs to be charged for a minimum of 2 hours before first use....... = ( FAIL!!!!!!!!!
Either way, for all the runners out there this is going to be the purchase of your running career! :) But I wont know the details why it will be until I use it on Sunday.

For now you can look at the pretty pic of it : )
Oh. did I forget to mention that it comes in PINK!!! <3>BETTER reason for you get one = )

Last Day of Summer
I cant believe it. It's the last day of august already. This summer really flew by!
The last day of exams - marking the first day of summer holidays with Vegas, couldn't of been any better. And I guess it just started too roll from there.
It just hit me that in less than a week I'm back to old granny mode - school. The thoughts alone makes me sad... the clouds, the fog, the rain, the SNOW! >=(
I ended my august with one last summer run along the sunset beach, english bay, 3rd beach, 2nd beach and along the walls of Stanley Park. Every time I run along the seawall it never disappoints -- always breath taking. I love running there.
(Last day of Aug's Sun Set -- End of Summer 09 )
It starts off strong, followed by a little patch of tiredness, but once you pass that point its amazing how good you feel, even after 10km. Your legs feel lighter, you're lighter , you stand up straighter and your lungs feel like they are maximizing every breath you inhale.
I cant believe after 4 month of summer I actually enjoy running outside (finally). Well, I guess now I'll have to see how well I can handle the treadmill for the next 8 months. = (

(A Random Summer night - where we laughed so hard that my bed broke LMAO)
Bye bye summer. : (
